MEN'S first division powerhouse Marchioris Development has one hand on this season's title after brushing aside an injury-ravaged Real Juice/Bar 188 with an 11-6 victory on Monday night.
Marchioris were never truly troubled in what was at times a heated matchin which Brendan Giason and Real Juice's Ross Marando were both sinbinned in the second half.
While Real Juice improved after the interval to ensure the second stanza was even with three tries apiece, a number of fitness concerns over key players kept them from giving the game a proper nudge.
They did get off bright start and nearly scored with their first set through Jason Bertacco, who was tagged by Guy Orton just before he could touch down.
But it was Marchioris who opened the scoring with tries to Michael Duncan and Brendan Giason to forge an early 2-0 lead.
They added a third in controversial fashion when Damien Giason went over despite a touch from Daniel Quarisa, who fumed when he was ruled offside by the referee.
Real Juice hit back via Dean Dinicola to make it 3-1, but Marchioris turned up the heat and piled on another five touchdowns before the break.
The pick of the bunch was Rodney Savage's effort, which came courtesy of a long but accurate pass to the left from Kris Duncan.
Marchioris' Dominic Giorgi scored the first of the second half to extend his side's buffer to 9-3, which by that stage was insurmountable.
However, Real Juice found consolation tries late on through Quarisa, Jordan Lando and Bertacco to ease the pain.
Brendan Giason ended up with a hat-trick for Marchioris, while Kris Duncan, Damien Giason and Savage ended up with doubles.
