Game on for chefs

WHEN the whistle blows at 10.30am in Griffith Central this Saturday a sporting event like no other will kick off.

This year’s Superchef Competition is a local sport club’s dream come true, with $3000 up for grabs.

Thanks to Harvey Norman, Griffith Central and The Area News, everything is set for what is expected to be an action-packed contest, but more clubs are needed to help fill upcoming heats.

Griffith Central manager Cheryl Wood is urging any clubs in and around Griffith to come forward.

“This is such a good chance to get some exposure for your club, have some fun and have a crack at the $3000,” she said.

To add extra flavour to the competition non-food related sporting challenges have been added.

“It’s going to be lots of fun,” Mrs Wood said. “They will be cooking, but we’ve also added some sports related challenges to make it interesting.

The Griffith Swans hope their graceful moves on the netball court and football field will prove helpful in the kitchen this weekend.
