Drink drivers, break ins and a fire destroys house in Griffith LAC

A 24-year-old P plater was been charged with high range drink driving after colliding with a parked car in Narrandera on Friday night.

No one was injured when the car the Narrandera man was driving crashed into a parked car in Jonsen Street, Narrandera about 10.20pm on January 25.

The man failed a breath test at the scene before being taken to the Narrandera Polic Station where he returned a reading of 0.199.

His license has been suspended.

A Griffith man has also been charged after failing a random breath test on Benerembah Street, Griffith in the early hours of Friday morning.

About 2.45am on 25 January 2013 the 24 year old was driving on Benerembah Street where he failed the random breath test. 

He was then taken to Griffith Police Station for a breath analysis, where he returned a reading of 0.139. 

The man has been charged with mid range drink driving and his license has been suspended.

Police are seeking information from the public after a Banna Avenue, Griffith business was broken into on Saturday.

A large canvas bag as well as other items were stolen from the premises in the top block of Banna Avenue about 7am.

Police are seeking assistance from members of the public who may have seen any persons acting suspiciously in the area about 7.00am on Saturday morning to contact Griffith Police on 6969 4299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A Goolgowi home has been burnt to the ground after two separate incidents on the weekend.

Police were first called to the Kidman Way residence about 12.30am on Sunday morning where they found the unoccupied home extensively damage.

The Rural Fire Service was called to property about 6.30am are the fire reignited.

The second blaze caused the house to collapse.
