Moran killing: three arrests

Police have arrested three people in relation to yesterday's fatal shooting of Desmond 'Tuppence' Moran at Ascot Vale.

Moran, a member of the notorious Melbourne underworld family, was gunned down at a cafe on the busy Union Road shopping strip.

Police say a 43-year-old man is expected to be charged with one count of murder, while a 64-year-old woman and a 45-year-old woman are expected to be charged with being an accessory to murder. All three are from Ascot Vale.

Police will be applying for all three to be remanded in custody, with both women expected to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court later today.

Court details have not yet been finalised for the man.
