PB bonanza at time trials

29 Feb, 2008 08:37 AM
There were some great swims on the night and many personal best (PB) times posted. Louise Hancock completed a great swim in her 200m individual medley (IM), knocking 21 seconds off her previous best.

Callan Mott went a little better with a 21.34 second PB in the same event, while Maddie Lyons produced a 26.28 second PB in her 200m IM. But the super swim of the night went to one of our youngest swimmers Will Lyons, who pulled out a 29.44 second PB in his 200m IM effort.

Top scorers on the night were the Seers brothers Jacob and Mitchell who both swam three PBs and 65 points.

Ryan Altin has been a great improver in his time trial times – his 62 points after three PB efforts was a just reward for his hard training.

Eilish Aird also swam three personal best times and 61 points for fourth place on the night.

Will Lyons, after his huge IM PB swim, scored 55 points and fifth place.

The club also welcomed some new swimmers with Thea Bianchini, Tia Miller, and Will Valeri trying time trials for the first time.

WEEK two saw the schools in the middle of their carnival program and the turn out for time trials went back to an orderly 24 swimmers.

Ryan Altin picked up another three PB swims and was the week’s top scorer with 63 points.

Shenaede Curley, Vaughn Higgins and Ted Jones all tied for second place on 60 points after they also produced three PB efforts.

Chelsea Evans had a great night with two PBs and secured fifth place on the night with 52 points.

Chelsea’s 7.88-second PB swim in the 100m freestyle was the night’s best effort.

Last week saw 27 swimmers out battle the clock, with the top five swimmers all recording a perfect three from three PB efforts.

Max Jones and Zach Stockton took the honours of highest point scorer on the night with 64 points apiece.

Chelsea Evans was another strong showing with 62 points and third place; Callan Mott was fourth with 61 points and Shenaede Curley fifth with 60 points.

The club welcomed new swimmer Jarrod Rossiter to time trials, who put in some good swims in his debut.

There were some great swims on the night with most of them from the individual medley events. Max Jones took 24 seconds off his 200m IM time.

The best swim on the night goes to Callan Mott who took 4.87 seconds off his 50m breaststroke time in a super swim.

AFTER thirteen weeks of the twenty week series the leader boards for both boys and girls are still very close.

Shenaede Curley leads the girls with 628 points, followed by Mickayla Graham on 571, Natasha Curley third on 557 points, followed by Samantha Graham fourth on 508 points and Eilish Aird fifth on 485 points.

Ryan Altin leads the boys with 622 points followed closely by Jacob Seers on 590 points.

Vaughn Higgins holds down third spot with 549 points, Ted Jones is fourth with 468 points and Mitchell Seers rounds out the top five on 463 points.
