HOW do you stop a side that scored 94 points the previous round?
That's the question West Wyalong coach Mick Loudon and his side have been asking themselves as they prepare to travel to Wade Park to take on the Yenda Blueheelers on Sunday.
The men in blue and white were unstoppable last weekend as they put the Griffith Black and Whites to the sword, in what was one of the most lop-sided games ever seen in Group 20.
However, Blueheelers coach Andrew Lavaka said his side had moved from last week's rout, adding the Mallee Men will provide a much sterner test.
"I'm pretty sure all the boys are over last weekend because it's going to be a tough match this week and they are switched on because it's another level for us to step up," Lavaka said.
"There is no way it will be a big scoreline like it was last week, we'll have to work for the points this week."
Trent McFadzean has been named in the backrow after impressing selectors with his workrate last weekend, in what is a good sign for the nuggety player, having only recently returned from having a plate put in his wrist.
"At this stage Trent has been training really hard despite being injured, but it's a good sign for him and the club, so if we can get guys like him back before the finals we can work on getting the same line-up on the park," Lavaka said.
"It's going to be one of the toughest sides we have named this year, but a lot of the teams now know these are the games that are the really important ones in order for them to get the momentum they need for the weeks ahead."
Helping West Wyalong's cause will be the pairing of Marty and Bernie Lancaster in the front-row with the two hulking props often causing their opponents headaches in defence, while laying an excellent platform for Loudon and the rest of the backline.
