GRIFFITH'S Andrew Fifita said he will not be holding back when he takes to the field in the All Stars extravaganza next season, after being picked in the Indigenous representative team this week.
With Fifita adding his name to those lucky enough to represent their people in the increasingly popular fixture, it completes dual representative honours for the new Cronulla Shark, having played for Tonga in a one-off Test match against Samoa last year.
Despite recently undergoing minor ankle surgery, Fifita has been training strongly with his new club and said he cannot wait to pull on the Indigenous All Star jersey on game day.
“Playing with the boys, playing for your people, having all that support and running out for the Indigenous team will be great,” Fifita said.
“I’ll be giving it 110 per cent.”
Making the honour more special for Fifita, and the rest of the Indigenous All Stars, is the renaming of the winning trophy after recently departed legend of the game Arthur Beetson.
“I am really happy with the quality of the team the public has selected and with the names announced we are in the very best position to win the Arthur Beetson Trophy come February 4,” Indigenous coach Laurie Daley said.
“I know all Indigenous rugby league players look up to Artie for what he did for rugby league and for Indigenous Australians and with the trophy representing a true legend of the game, we will have extra incentive to win the All Stars match.”
