DARTNELLS Building has made a push for the top spot in division three women's touch football, after putting MV Trenching to the sword 16-1 at Ted Scobie Oval.
Possessing too much skill and speed for their opponents, Dartnells had the game wrapped up by half-time, but to MV's credit they never dropped their heads.
The try-fest began early as Dartnells's Guilia Zanotto and Tara Searl crossed, with their foot speed splintering the MV defence.
In the blink of an eye, the lead had grown to five, but MV were not going to die wondering, as they tried everything to get back into the game.
When Emma Dreyer crossed for her side's seventh try, several of the MV players vocally expressed their bewilderment at the current score.
Early in the second half, MV looked to catch the runaway leaders on the hop, looking to make a break from the opening touch, which set the tone for a better half of play.
While the lead had grown to be nine, MV finally had a moment to celebrate when Ashley Murray caught the Dartnells's defence napping off a restart and crossed, much to the joy of her teammates.
But the status-quo returned as Dartnells ran in a further seven tries to give their percentage a big boost heading into the Christmas break.
