IF Toby Price’s opposition needed any more confirmation the former Australian champion is back to full health, they only need to look at this photo.
Price’s first ride after suffering a horror fall at the South Australian round of the Australian Off-Road series at Callington last season, went exactly to plan after winning the pro-class race.
After suffering broken ribs and kidney damage in the accident, Price took much the last half of 2011 to recover from the injuries.
But the new season bring fresh optimism one of the genuine stars of enduro will once again claim his mantle as the best in Australia. Price ensured a Motorex KTM quinella in Melbourne last weekend, as he led home teammate Chris Holis at the Melbourne Enduro-X.
The Hillston born star successfully negotiated the technical Enduro-X circuit, which included obstacles such as rocks, logs an tyres.
“It was good to get the win in something different that we don’t usually do,” Price said.
“The track was marked out really well and was a lot of fun to ride – one wheel wrong and things got very difficult.
"I’ll be doing a bit more testing on the 500 EXC in the next couple of days in the lead-up to the nationals, but so far, so good.”
The opening round of the Australian Off Road Championship will take place at Dungog in New South Wales on February 25-26.
