Not only will there be a multitude of outside talent on show in the square circle, but six local fighters will lock horns with the invaders to prove they have what it takes.
One of the highlights of the night will be the bout between Emori Rauluni and Adam Hill in the 64kg welterweight division.
Rauluni and Hill will battle it out over four three minute rounds, with Hill’s impressive resume including the Southern NSW Zone Championships.
PCYC manager Kym Bock said the biggest problem Rauluni has faced has been finding fighters that are willing to step into the ring against the youngster, who has impressed all that have seen him train.
“The biggest problem is finding people for him to fight, we have taken him to fights and coaches don’t want to put their guy against him to help try and protect their win-loss record,” Bock said.
“Adam (Hill) has had 10 fights for eight wins, but Emori has been training really hard, he’s been doing a lot of running and condition work and has been sparring with David (Rauluni Jnr).”
Another Rauluni will step between the ropes for his first fight, with Sam Rauluni, extending the family name in the ring.
Bock said Sam looks to have caught the boxing bug, and like the rest of the family, has shown he has the goods in the ring, saying he has worked hard in the lead up to his fight.
Steve Smith was supposed to take his place on the card tomorrow, but had to withdraw due to a shoulder injury.
Bock also asked for the local indigenous community to come out and support three local fighters that are also making their debuts tomorrow night, with Kevin Simpson, Nigel Goolagong and Wes Carberry all looking to make an impression.
Justin Guerra will also be looking to kick his 2008 campaign off on the right foot against undefeated Canberra fighter Jake Collier.
Guerra, who has nine wins from 11 fights said he hoped a win this weekend may lead to a Australian featherweight title shot.
“I would definitely take it (a title shot) if it came along,” Guerra said.
All up there will be up to 10 fights on the night, and fight fans will be treated to a bare knuckle Kyokushin karate exhibition fight between Holly Rule and Melissa Riggs, which is sure to light up Yenda.
There will also be auctions and raffles of sporting memorabilia on the night and DJ Kenny will keep the crowd pumping all night.
