GREWAL Homes and the Tigers put on an epic battle in the Griffith Summer Hockey competition, with the game itself living up to the pre-game hype.
Paul Milne, following on from his spectacular performance last week, showed his speed and ball skill scoring four times.
Defence was strong for Grewal Homes, however Tigers had them on the back foot early with the score being 3-1 at half-time. Going into the second half looked the same as the first, Tigers all over the field with Grewal Homes defending.
A quick goal from Belinda Violi took Grewal Homes total score to two, however they were unable to score again in this game. Tigers team work and speed made them a worthy opponent, taking them to a win 6-2.
The game between Total Creations and Red Devils last week was a close game
Both teams defended fantastically, but it was Ryan Dunn that made the difference for Red Devils as the ball travelled up and down the field, finally Mark McLean scored for Total Creations, getting them on the board.
Answering straight back was Sarah Dillon for Red Devils and the game was tied one-all.
A quick goal from Matt Staines from Total Creations and then Red Devils Sarah Dillon scored, evening the score again.
It was neck-and-neck to the last second before Mark McLean got a break away from back in his own half, ran the ball all the way up the centre of the field, through Red Devils' defence and scored with the full-time whistle sounding as the goal was scored with the goal signally Total Creations' second win for the season.
Go Hard Or Go Home came out strongly in the first half, with Kym Wheeler and Ellen Baird scoring quickly. Emeri soon took possession of the ball, Ceaser Cabrales ran straight up the field, with a precision pass to Jomandie Van Der Merwe to score from the centre of the circle.
The score was locked at 2-1 going into half-time and that is where it stayed, with great play in defence by both teams.
It is important that all teams provide an umpire for their team, without umpires the games can not start on time.
There will be a general bye on February 7 as the Griffith Hockey Association will hold its annual general meeting at the Victoria Hotel at 7pm, anyone interested in the development of hockey in Griffith and surrounding areas is welcome to attend.
