Zamin blitzes Sevens rivals

THE Summer Sevens recommenced last week following the Christmas and New Year break with 463 players returning cards, resulting in 82 pro shop rewards paid out with the cut off at 19 points.

Darren Zamin carded the score of the round, scoring 26 points with Robert Cavallaro continuing to shine second on 25 points.

David Tyrell, Don Bryant, Josh Murray and Glen Moretto all carded 24 points, along with Brian Maguire, Mark Feltracco, Greg Rossi and Niu George all among the biggest handicap losers.

Cavallaro has taken a handy lead in the player of the year standings with 39 points, closest rivals are Matt Ahamana, Josh Murray (26 points), Tony Coberlan (25) and Peter Soligo and John Grehan (23).

A number of lady players are in contention and Wendy Snaidero leads with 17 points, followed by Jenni Overs (16), Jenny Turner (15), Sue Campbell (14), Suzanne Alpen and Wendy Murwood (13) followed by Cheryl Rawle and Anne Thacker (10).

In the Biggest Loser section, Robert Cavallaro has lost 32 shots, Justin Whitehead has cut 25 off his handicap followed by Josh Allen (20), Josh Murray (19), Wayne Woods (17), Matt Ahama, Paul Curphey (16), Kevin McKenna (15).

Jenny Turner has cut her handicap by 15, Wendy Snaidero and Wendy Murwood are the main lady losers.

Leading teams in each division are: division one: Hopefuls 13.5 points; division two: Different Strokes 12.5; division three: Knox Builders 14.5; division four: McNabb Caltex 13.5; division five: Landmark Green Machine; Division six: Awesome Entertainment and Heath's Butchery both 12; division seven: Muddy Insects hold a six-point lead on 16 points.
