A FIELD of 44 players took part in Saturday’s Mixed Pinehurst round with the team of Ryan Salvestro and Yvonne Budd winning with a nett score of 68 and 7/8 to win from Denis Moran and Joan Staines whom came in with a nett score of 69 and 1/4.
Third place went to Chick and Elizabeth Graham with a nett score of 70 and 5/8.
THE winning pair went out on the front nine in 38 off the stick with their only birdies coming on the first and seventh holes, while they came home on the back nine in 43 off the stick for a total of 81.
The team of Moran and Staines went out on the front nine in 44 and came back with 41 on the back nine for 85 off the stick.
Third-placed Graham’s had the better scratch score with 77 off the stick, which included an eagle three on the fifth hole and birdies on first and sixth. Ball vouchers went to 73 and 3/8 on a countback.
SEVENTY-three players played in the single event also played on Saturday in
conjunction with the mixed event. Col Leeson took out A grade with 39 points to win from Barry Stapleton who came in with 38 points.
Leeson went out on the front nine in 20 points with pars on the first, third, fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth. He came home on the back nine with 19 points with five more pars – 10th, 11th, 13th, 16th and 17th.
Runner-up Barry Stapleton had 19 points on each side, which included birdies on the fifth and seventh and 11 pars in his round.
Greg Bonetti took out B grade with 39 points on a countback to win from an unlucky Lesley Bock who also came in with 39 points.
Bonetti went out on the front nine with 20 points which included three pars on the seventh, eighth and ninth which all resulted in three pointers.
He also had three more pars on the back nine in his round of 19 points with these coming on the 12th, 16th and 18th. All resulted in three pointers.
An unlucky Lesley Bock went out on the front nine in a blaze having 23 points, which included a birdie two on the fourth for four points and pars on the first,seventh and eighth, all resulting in three pointers. She unfortunately could not keep it going on the back nine with only 16 points with her only par on 11th.
Stewart McGrath-Kerr took out C grade with 37 points to win from John Signor who came in with 36 points. Stewart went out on the front nine in 17 points with three pars on the first, seventh and eighth all resulting in three pointers.
He came home on the back with 20 points, which included a four-pointer on the 12th with a par and then pars on the 11th and 17th.
John Signor went out on the front nine with 16 points with three pointers on the third and fourth, then he came home with 20 points with four three-point holes on the 11th, 13th, 14th and 16th.
The nearest the pins went to Shirley Carter (fourth), Robert Gilbert
(seventh), Cheryl Rawle (11th) and Chick Graham (16th), while the pro pins went to Mark Ledwidge on the first and Roy Catanzariti on the 15th while the vouchers went to 34 points on a countback.

THE club’s new point of sale till system ,which enambles members to put credit on their Golf Link membership card, is now up and running.
When a member has a credit on their card they can use this when they purchase drinks over the bar and they will receive a discount on those drinks, but you must have credit on your card to receive this discount.

The course superintendent is looking for volunteers in the week commencing April 28 to repair pitch marks on the greens prior to the Pro Am.
There is no set time for this so any help will be greatly appreciated.
Upcoming events include a Stroke round on Saturday, while Sunday’s event will be the qualifying round of the NSW Keno Mixed 4BBB Championships.
A FIELD of 39 starters took part in the Veterans Competition in which two grades played. Alan Foster took out A grade with 38 points to win from John Gale with 37 points while Barrie Brown came in third with 36 points on a countback.
John Tarr took out B grade with the day’s best score of 41 points to win from Ray Mead with 38 points and Les Corner came in third with 37 points.
Balls vouchers went to three points on a countback.
Next week’s competition will be a single stableford in three grades.
FORTY-six players took part in Sunday’s single stableford with Gerry Cox winning A grade with 37 points on a countback from Tony Dillon also with 37 points.
B grade went to Jack Draskovic with 37 points from Andrew Noad with 36 points, while Ian Mackinlay won C grade with 38 points from Will Mead with 37 points.
Ball went to 32 points on a countback.
A FIELD of 57 players took part in Wednesday’s Single Stableford with Barrie Brown winning A grade with 38 points on a countback from Alan Foster also with 38 points.
Alan Bretag took out B grade with 38 points, winning from Andrew Noad with 37 points, while Shane Chapman had the day’s best score of 42 points to win C grade from Ross Horton with 38 points.
The highlight of the day was Jason Magoci’s eagle two on the first hole while ball vouchers went to 34 points on a countback.
