ROD McNabb set the course alight at the Griffith Golf Club last Saturday, playing in a single stableford he amassed a record 50 points, a score that has not even been recorded in a 4BBB in recent times.
There were 67 players challenging the course with a CCR of 70 and Geoff Pellizzer won A grade, carding 41 points.
He fired three over par 74, going out in par with bogeys on the second and seventh cancelled out by birdies on the first and third.
But he could not buy a putt on the back nine, coming home in three over par 38 for 19 points to go with his 22 points out. Runner-up Ron Virago, who has battled his way back into the top grade, scored 37 points, 17 out and 20 home with birdie on the 15th to go with five pars.
Luke DeValentin was the best in B grade thansk to his 39 points after he carding three pars in scoring 19 points out then parred both the 12th and 18th on the back to score 20 points.
Runner-up, Jason Bartlett had the perfect start after a birdie on the first, but failed to go on with it to slip to 17 points out.
He then birdied both the 10th and 16th and looked set for a win, but a miss on the 17th was his undoing, carding 21 points home to score 38 points on a countback.
It was a case of daylight second after McNabb carded his extraordinary score of 50 points in C grade.
He carded four-point pars on both the sixth and seventh to score 25 points out then added another 25 points on the back nine, carding four-point pars on the 11th and 12th and was denied an even higher score after carding one-pointers on the 14th and 18th to go with his amazing nine three-point holes.
Runner-up Stuart McGrath-Kerr could be excused for feeling a little dirty after carding 40 points to finish a distant second.
He missed on the fourth in scoring 18 points out and then added five three-pointers in a 22-point back nine.

Vouchers went to 35 points on a countback.
