Wednesday’s fine and sunny conditions attracted forty ladies to play in a stableford event at the Griffith Golf Club.
And although the weather was conducive to good golf, high scoring proved difficult.
The winner of division one was Painting on a countback from the unlucky Val Browne with 35 points.
Division two was won by the consistent Joan Staines on 35 points, with runner up being Robyn Kefford on 33 points.
Kay Morrell won division three with 32 points from Dodie Foster runner up on 30 points.
Nearest the pins on the day went to Yvonne Budd in division one, division two to Robyn Kefford and Dodie Foster taking out division three.
There were 12 balls in the ball comp, with 28 points on a countback was required to win a ball.
On Saturday thirty-six ladies enjoyed the lovely weather with the course being in fine condition, which was reflected in the higher point scoring in the Stableford event played.
Painting continued her magnificent winning form by greeting the judge in division one with a very solid 40 points.
Runner-up was the consistent Judy Leeson on a countback from Rose Alpen with 38 points.
Dale Spence enjoyed her day on the course returning a score of 40 points to win division two, with Gloria Brown runner up with a solid 39 points.
The diminutive Dodie Foster took the honours in division three with a tenacious 37 points, while Pat Jones with a respectable 36 points was the runner up.
Denise Turner was nearest the pin in division one. Pat Pauling was the winner of division two, while Division three was won by Anne Forrest.
A reminder to the older fraternity, the lady veterans competition will commence on Tuesday, June 17 at 10am for a 10.30am hit off.
