THERE was a host of excellent scores in division one of Griffith Ladies’ Golf last Wednesday with Liz Graham taking first place with 38 points. Runner-up was Bruna Ross, also with a good score of 37 points.
Merle Cudmore won division two with 37 points and Shannon King was the runner-up with 34 points.
Twenty-three ladies played on the day and there were seven balls in the ball competition with a score of 32 points on a countback required to be a winner.
Liz Graham was the sole player on Sunday and she finished with 37 points.
Cooler weather on Wednesday encouraged 30 ladies to have a game and this was enough for three grades.
The winner in division one was Rose Alpen with 34 points after a countback with Prue Watson, who finished in second place.
Best nine winner was Liz Graham with 18 points.
Chris Cunial won division two with 35 points after a countback while Joan Staines was the runner-up, also with 35 points.
Best nine went to Shirley Carter with 17 points.
Jan Condon won division three with a great score of 40 points while runner-up was Robyn Barrington with 37 points.
Best nine in this division went to Merle Cudmore with 20 points.
Nine balls were in the ball competition and the score required was 30 points on a countback.
Today’s event will be a stableford and the weekend’s events will also be stableford rounds.
