AS THE Summer Sevens approaches the business end of the competition, the season's highest number of cards were returned last week - 567 in total with a record 175 Pro Shop rewards paid out.

Steven Cunial carded the equivalent to 12 under par 30 points to be the week's top dog and John McDonald also had a hot round, taking second prize on 26 points on a countback from Ken Waymouth.

Matt Ahamana continues to rack up big numbers for his tee, scoring 25 points, while six players have ramped up their game, vying for a place in the finals with Nick Scott, Bob Gill, Craig Barrington, Erica Ellis, Stewart Wood, Scott Hazlewood, John Charles and Wade Woods all scoring 24 points.

The rewards cut off was 18 pints.

In the Player of the Year standings, while not adding to his score this week, Robert Cavallaro still holds a handy lead on 43 points.

Matt Ahamana has moved up to challenge now on 31 points, Tony Coberlan is next on 27 points followed by Ken Waymouth, Josh Murray, Steve Cunial (26) and Rob Rand (25) all with a huge task to catch the leader.

In the ladies competition Wendy Snaidero has joined Wendy Mur-wood on top with 17 points closely followed by Jenni Overs (16), Jenni Turner (15), Anne Thacker and Sue Campbell (14) and Suzanne Alpen (13) all with a chance.

Little change in the Biggest Loser section, Robert Cavallaro (35), Justin Whitehead (25) and Jason Allen (20) have the best chances of overtaking the leader.

Wendy Murwood leads the ladies in handicap loss on 16, closely followed by Jenni Turner with 15.
