THE event at the Griffith Golf Club last Saturday was a single stableford, with 94 players and a CCR of 70.
The dry fairways meant plenty of run and Darryl Henderson took full advantage, carding the winning A grade score of 41 points.
He fired three over par 74 off the stick, out 38, canning birdies on the sixth
and ninth, and coming home in two over par 37, draining birdies on both the 10th and 13th.
Regular Leeton visitor Brendon Irvine also relished the conditions, shooting one over par 72 but only good enough for runner-up with 40 points.
Irvine fired par 36 on the front nine,
nailing birdies on the first and fourth, before he canned two more on the 10th and the 17th, but a bogey on the last cost him a win.
Bill Carter was the best in B grade, carding 40 points, scoring 19 points out and 21 home, in carding six pars.
Runner-up Col Cavanaugh looked a winner after a 22-point front nine, but a number of one-pointers on the back nine saw him slip to 17 points home and a total of 39 points.
Wingham visitor Wayne Fitzgerald enjoyed his visit, carding the day’s best score of 43 points to win C grade, with Don Hurst runner-up on 40 points.
Hurst carded 19 points out and 21 home, including seven three-pointers.
Pro Pins went to Brett Polkinghorne and Alf Franchi, with par threes to fourth John Brennick, seventh Jason Magoci, 11th Bruce Smith, 16th Cec Spence.
Vouchers went to 35 points on a countback.
THE first and second rounds of the Roy and Ida Graham Mixed Match Play were also played last weekend with the following results.

The semi-finals and final will be played this weekend.
DAYLIGHT saving is due to commence on Sunday, October 5, along with the popular Summer Sevens.
The pro shop has competition packages with all the relevant information and the time to register is now.
It signals two months of golf with the Doms Motors Club Championships will commence on Saturday, October 11.

Par Three Championship will be played.
All holes will be set up as par threes with Super Sevens social players invited to play off their last seasons handicaps, contact the Pro Shop for all information.
Last Sundays event was a single stableford with 36 players and a CCR of 69.
Laurie Corner was the A grade winner on 41 points, ahead of Alf Franchi, who scored 39 points.
Countbacks sorted the places in B grade after John Gale and Jim Dickie both scored 37 points. Gale took the win.
Best score of the day to C grade winner Brad Hardwick on 42 points from an unlucky Stewart Davis 40 points. Vouchers went to 34 points on a countback.
THE veterans played their usual single stableford last Thursday, with 51 players in two grades and with a CCR of 69.
Jim Calabria continued to shine, taking out the 0-19 division with a card of 42
points from the in-form Tony Colpo on 41 points, and Bob Glyde on 38 points, on a countback.
Lyndsey Martin won division two, carding 45 points from runner-up John Bortolazzo with 40 points, losing the countback despite a 22-point back nine.
An unlucky Keith Woodbridge was third also on a countback on 40 points.
Vouchers went to 35 points.
Tomorrow’s event is again a single stableford, but in three grades.
THE Third Round of the Cudmore/Williams Trophy against Leeton will be played at Griffith next Thursday, October 2.
It will be a shotgun start at 10am and will be the only event on that day.
Last week’s mid week Pro Competition was a single stroke with 56 players.
Gerry Cox carded the best score of 65 nett to win A grade, from Jack Trimboli with a score of 67 nett.
Jim Calabria again starred to take out B grade on 68 nett, with Charlie Guglielmino runner-up. Countbacks determined the places in C grade after Mal Ledwidge and Allan Smith both carded 68 nett, but Ledwidge was able to take the win.
Vouchers went to 71 nett.
