23 Apr, 2008 10:57 AM
In A grade, Griffith and Coolamon were locked neck and neck for much of the game, with the lead seesawing for much of the first half. After the long break, the Swans kicked away from the Grasshoppers, scoring feely to outstrip the Coolamon side 8-4 to help set up their run to a first up win for the season.

Karen Conlan and Bridgette Keely were applauded for their court coverage, with player of the match honours for Griffith.

The good news just kept

coming in the B grade game, which resulted in a 27-12 win for the Swans.

Griffith was always in control of the game, jumping out to a seven-goal lead at the first break.

From there the Swans kept the pressure on, despite a better showing from Coolamon in the second quarter, the home side was never in trouble extending its lead out to 13 goals at the end of the third quarter.

The C grade fixture again saw the Swans run out convincing winners 25-11 as Ashleigh Tyndall and Erin Keely helped guide their side to the easy win.

The complete rout by the Griffith sides was completed, when the Junior Swans outplayed Coolamon, winning 40-6.

The defence in the third quarter was working overtime for the home side that managed to keep Coolamon scoreless, allowing 15 goals to be scored in the term.

Ellen John and Peta Larkin were rated as the best for their side in what was a great start to the year for Griffith.
