THE Griffith Swans netball sides are only two games away from securing places in the Riverina Football and Netball league grand finals, after the club's A and B grade sides secured vital wins last weekend.

The top side battled hard during the first half in its clash against Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong, before an excellent third quarter put a gap on the Lions the Swans would be able to maintain, running out winners 52-41.

"The game was pretty tough and they gave it to us, we had to battle hard in the first half, but defensively we stepped up and gave us some good scoring oppotunities late in the game," Griffith's Jody Landy said.

Karen Conlan, Belinda Battistel and Robyn Overs all continued their excellent form to pilot the Swans another week closer to the decider.

B grade also tatsed success last weekend, as they defeated Coolamon 42-32, while the sour note for the club was a loss to the Juniors, but they receieve another shot of staying in the hunt for a premiership this weekend.

The Swans' A grade side faces a tough task in Narrandera this weekend, as they face a Turvey Park side that has defeated them on both occassions the clubs have played this season.

Despite the track record against the Bulldogs, Landy is confident with a full-strength side, the Swans have the talent and determination to win when it matters.

"We have lost both times so far this season, but we've got a good team and hopefully it can all come together at the right time and the girls go out there and have no regrets after the game," Landy said.
