IT WAS the trip of a lifetime for the Griffith Panthers under-10s rugby league team, who travelled to Penrith to watch their namesakes play last weekend.
The team, which finished the local competition undefeated, attended a Panthers training session on Friday where they got to meet the whole team.
They then travelled to the game on Saturday, and were lucky enough to be included in playing a short curtain-raiser to the main game against St Clair under 10s.
The boys seized the rare opportunity to play before 19,000 fans cheering them on and even caught a glimpse of themselves on the big screen at the stadium.
As in every game they have played this year they were very strong when running the ball and excellent with defence.
Despite being narrowly defeated 2-0, the young Panthers came away with an invaluable experience and learnt some new moves along the way.
