THE Yenda Golf Club played a stableford competition last Sunday with Mark Knight winning the day on a countback with 39 points from an unlucky Allan Howard.

Both players scored four-point holes, with Knight holing his on the 10th while Howard got his on the second to snare the vital win.

There was also a countback for third with Neil Pope, 17 points out and 20 in taking the prize over Chris Close after he too finished on 37 points.

Pope also took out the Nearest the Pin on the 14th and Close took out the ProPin, while Dolf Murwood took out the Nearest the Pin on the fourth.

Next week is the Leagues Members' Mug for September with Barbara Millis and Denis Murphy captains and tee off is at 8am.

The Yenda Vets played their stableford last Tuesday with Greg Farrell and Glen Neylands both scoring 37 points, Farrell however did better on the back nine scoring one point better than Neylands' 16.

The Yenda Golf club has opened a web site www.yendagolf.weebly.com competition summaries will be posted there as soon as possible after the game.
