GRIFFITH hosted the fifth round of the Golden Wheels Dirt Track series last weekend with a number of local riders taking on, and beating, some of the best riders in the state.
In the senior division, Griffith nabbed the quinella, with David Gras and Matt Pearlowski taking first and second respectively in the Classic up to 250cc division.
Tom Armstrong was first across the line in the 450cc four-stroke class and Griffith’s Rod Andreazza and Craig Sommervillve finished among the placings in the classic over 250cc class.
Armstrong also claimed the finishing flag in the Unlimited Open class, while Andreazza backed up from his earlier efforts to finish second in the over 35s with Steve Cadorin just behind him in third.
Griffith also had a successful day out in the junior ranks, with Jake Aramini winning in the 65cc 10 to 12 years, the Trail Bike 10-12 years and the 85cc 9-12 years races.
Anthony Gras crossed the line third in a tough 85cc 12-13 years race, while Corey Gilbert showed off his skills in the Trail Bike 7-10 years class.
Promosing junior Todd Pearlowski took the bronze in the 250cc 9-12 years race, with Luke Cadorin and Kyle Andreazza taking part in the non-competitive 50cc Nippers class.
