Griffith 85
North Wagga 14
IN A score that would look more at home on the Exies Oval, the Griffith Swans humiliated their North Wagga opposition last round to win by a staggering 71 goals.
The massive win came on the back of an excellent first term, with the home side scoring 22 goals to never seriously be challenged for the rest of the game.
It was raining goals all game for the Swans, with goal attack Rachael Tyndall making the most of her opportunity of being called up to the top grade with an excellent performance.
Tyndall combined well with veteran goal shooter Karen Conlan to extend the lead to 36 at half-time.
Jodie Landy and Ellen John combined well through the centre court and around the goal circle, feeding in lots of short, sharp passes.
And despite a light drizzle in the second half, Griffith's handling and accuracy on goal were not affected as they continued to pull away from their helpless opposition with the lead out to 50 by the end of the third term.
The North Wagga girls, many of whom were backing up from B grade, to their credit kept going to the end with continued enthusiasm, but good defence from Sarah Shea helped limit their goals to 14, with the Swans too strong and finishing with a convincing win.
The big wins kept coming for the Swans, with the club's B grade side thrashing North Wagga 63-7 in another one-sided contest.
The signs were there for a potential blowout of the scoreline, after Griffith managed to limit North Wagga to only one goal, while scoring 16 of its own, and with each passing term, the margin only grew as the home side clinically disposed of North Wagga.
C grade did not have to break a sweat on the weekend after North Wagga forfeited.
