THE action on the track matched the conditions last weekend as the chequered flag fell on the Hot Summer Nights series for 2008, as locals dominated the finals standings.
A wild and windy weekend greeted the drivers at the Thar-bogang circuit, but all took to the track to grab vital last-round points.
Graham Winnel was one of the big winners on the day, taking out the Clubman Heavy section.
Also having a good day out was Peter Allchurch, who was first past the winning post in Clubman Superheavy but not before being pushed all the way by Stewart Lanhams, who had to settle for second.
Simon Mezzomo will also have fond memories of the last round after claiming the top place on the dais in the Senior National category, pushing Chris Thomas into second.
The meet signals a rebirth for the sport in Griffith, with the organising committee planning to add new events to the go-karting calendar next year, including a possible celebrity charity race.
