MEMBERS of the Griffith Pony Club have continued to excel in regional competitions over the past few months, with its 24 riders attending the annual Zone 21 camp at Yanco Agricultural High school.

The Griffith Pony Club has also hosted two events, the first of which was held in May, with 51 riders attending from Griffith, Rankins Springs, Leeton and Narrandera.

Riders competed in showjumping, dressage and sporting events, but the highlight of the weekend were the two feature events including the O'Keefe trophy which is presented to the rider who achieves the highest dressage percentage.

Kieran Hume riding Madam Fascinate had the honour of taking out the prestigious prize while the second feature event was the Tolina Trophy which is presented in memory of the great local showjumper Tolina, with Emma Ford riding Just Arthur proving to be too good for the rest of the field.

In May the club held a second event which was again well supported with 43 riders competing in riding classes, equestrian, sporting and a combined training event which consists of combined scores from a round of showjumping and dressage.

This weekend will see a number of riders travel to Narrandera to compete in a one day event to be held at the Narrandera Pony club grounds.
