THEY are the two C's that Hanwood FC need to cut out and improve on in the final weeks of the Griffith Football regular season -complacency and consistency.
Last year's grand finalists have made a habit this year of making one step forward and two steps back in their progress, with a huge leap backwards in their drubbing at the hands of Yoogali SC last round.
Coach Joe Catanzariti said now is the crucial time for his side to build from week to week as they look to try and build some momentum heading into the finals.
"I truely beleive that we can make an impact and maybe that loss (against YSC) can be a blessing in disguise, we're not throwing up the white flag that's for sure," Catanzariti said.
"We have just got to stick to our game and turn up to play every week because I think complacency might creep in every now and then."
"I have got no doubt that we can do it, it just comes back to how much we want to do it, but I don't doubt any of the players and I have full confidence in them."
The Hanwood leader said his side is wary of a Magpies side that is flying high after winning five of its last seven games, with a win this weekend making a top three finish a possibility after at one stage being last in the competition.
"They beat us, they knocked off YFC so they'll be playing with plenty of confidence, and if we don't turn up to play then we'll be on the wrong end of the scoreboard," Catanzariti said.
Hanwood striker Jason Bertacco is still rated a week-to-week prospect of returning from his serious ankle injury sustained in round six against Leeton United.
Wests coach Bryan Salvestro reflected on how far his side had come this season, and said there was only one way to go for his squad after their disastrous beginning to the year.
"Everyone was worried and panicking and I tried to tell them to have a bit of patience, and they settled down and they've come good," Salvestro said.
"But if we do beat Hanwood on Saturday night then it puts us in the running to come third, I know it doesn't really matter if we come third or fourth but it does matter when we look back from where we've come from at the start of the year."
The only major changes for the Magpies will be the absence of Logan Dunlop and Stuart Smeeth due to suspension, with Kris Johansson and Brian Sibanda to be called up.
Sibanda has been trying to find his form in reserve grade in recent weeks, with Salvestro believing the X-factor that Sibanda brings to his side can once again cause opposition sides headaches.
Another to cause Hanwood problems is Luke Congdon, with the striker finally opening his account last weekend against leeton, with Salvestro confident he will again be a big weapon for his side.
