After a slow start to the season, the Swans have been able to convert good passages of play into points, the result has been two massive wins over the Eastern Hawks and the struggling North Wagga Saints.
Despite the ease of the wins, Swans coach Gerard Toscan said the most pleasing aspect was the fact his side was able to put together a complete game of football from the opening bounce until the final siren.
“If we can win this weekend the chances of us playing finals footy will be a little brighter,” Toscan said.
“Everybody knows how important the game is this weekend, and the boys know if we can’t win this one, then it (making the finals) will be very hard.”
Toscan is wary of the Crows outfit, which boasts several promising footballers that have graduated from the premiership winning under 18 side from last year.
One player Toscan believes can give some of his defenders a few headaches is Paul Innelli.
“They have got a lot of young and very talented guys, many of them have come from the under 18 premiership side from last year, and so I think they (Leeton) are in a pretty good place rebuilding the club,” he said.
“Normally they tend to lose them at the end of the season, but they have been able to hang onto most of them.
“I have watched some of those guys closely since the grand final last year and Paul Iannelli won the grand final for them last year at half forward.
“He’s got a good set of hands and he’s just a kid and if he keep improving as he has he’ll be a real talent.”
When asked who would have the job of containing the young dynamo, Toscan was keeping his cards close to his chest, saying the club does have somebody in mind, but didn’t want to reveal who until the first bounce.
