WATSON lost only two wickets while scoring 77 runs for an average of 38.5 in their match against Johnson in the first round back for Griffith Senior Bradman cricket last weekend.
Riley Townsend was again in-form to score 22 retired, Will Townsend added 11 retired and Angus Kennedy was Johnson’s only successful bowler finishing with 1-7.
Johnson lost four wickets in scoring 105 in their turn at the crease to average 26.25.
Angus Kennedy starred with the bat to make 27 retired, Andrew Bastianon made 17 and Gabe Wedesweiler made 13 retired. Trent Goldman bowled well for Watson to finish with 2-28.
In a tight finish Hussey with 5-120 (avg 24) just prevailed over Haddin who made 6-124 (avg 20.6).
Hussey’s consistent scorers, Tate Gilmore and Zane Hogan made 21 and 22 respectively while Connor Bock chipped in with 14 runs and Lucas Fabris was Haddin’s top bowler taking 2-24.
Isaac Campbell led the way in Haddin’s innings with a score of 34, while Mitchell Irvin with 17 and Lucas Fabris 16 both played important innings’.
Connor Bock was the destroyer for Hussey, claiming 4-26.
Dean Bennett’s innings of 25 retired helped Clarke to a winning score of 3-101 against Ponting who replied with 11-60.
Lucas Conlan made 12 not out and Steven Witherspoon 11 not out to help the score along, while Jayden Lanza’s bowling figures of 2-24 were the best for Ponting.
Ponting’s batsmen struggled against the Clarke bowlers with Jackson Austin and Mitchell Hill top scoring with eight runs each.
Lucas Conlan took 2-1 and Steven Witherspoon 2-2 to complete a successful day for them both.
Connor Bock is the Senior Bradman cricketer of the week for his 14 runs and four wickets for Hussey.
