IF EXIES are able to win first innings points against Coro tomorrow, they will have a right to feel they can win from any situation for the rest of this season.
Coro’s batsmen showed what they capable of to score 311 in a day with Fletcher Josling being rewarded for his 81 with a spot in Griffith’s O’Farrell Cup side to face Wagga this weekend.
But if there was a batting line-up capable of chasing down the mammoth score it is Exies, with twin brothers Jamie and Justin Winkler beginning in a positive fashion in their brief time at the crease last weekend.
The pair will start out needing a further 295 runs for first innings points, and with Jamie already having gone agonisingly close to a century earlier this season, this weekend will be no better time to go two runs better than his 98.
But to do that Exies will have to blunt one of the best overall bowling attacks in the competition in the form of the Cougars.
Spinner Shane Hutchinson and quick Paul Plummer have combined for about 40 wickets this season, and Satvir Chahal is also a dangerous proposition with the new ball.
