O’Farrell boys efforts fall short against spirited Wagga

27 Jan, 2012 08:00 AM
AFTER a solid effort the O’Farrell boys came up short against a fired up Wagga outfit last Sunday.

With not many dates left to challenge, players need to keep performing in club cricket if the opportunity arises.

Our Open Creet Cup boys’ performance with the bat is leaving a little to be desired and consistency

all the way down the order with building partnerships the key this Sunday against a weakened Leeton at home.

The under 18s Creet Cup should be able to extend their lead at the top against Lake Cargelligo.

Teams are full for this Sunday’s 10th annual Coleambally six-a-side competition so it’s now time to select your team’s theme to win best dressed prizes, along with best batter, bowler, catch, six and hit the sign competition.

Coleambally will also be swinging and slinging with renowned Australian fast bowler Jeff Thompson straight after the cricket on Sunday night for $20 and tickets can be purchased from Brolga Hotel on 6954 4009.

Forget the Big Bash League, especially after last year’s Beelbangera Bushrangers headed by Matheson performed so Warner-like. The Barellan Masters Games includes six-a-side cricket on Sunday, Feburary 26 .

Another vintage squad could include; Davis, Tucker, Ritorito, McGann, Hicken, McKenna, McWhirter, Mitchell, Gilbert, Binks to manage and Coleman to raise the finger.

Our yesteryear cricketers can never be forgotten, but all together would still make a formable squad – www.barellanmastersgames.com.au

Tip of the week: swing and sling with Thommo this Sunday.
