A HALF-century to Damien Hill and a destructive effort with the ball has seen Exies score an easy 120-run win over Leagues at Collina Oval on Saturday.
Hill was at his shot-making best as he worked the ball into the gaps effortlessly on his way to an even 50 to help spearhead the excellent effort from Exies first up with the bat.
However, the news wasn't all rosy for Exies, early on Leagues' bowler Steve Parr (2-30) secured two wickets with the new ball to have Exies stumbling at just 2-11.
But Hill, along with Dan Brady (29), put on 47 runs for the third wicket to help get their innings back on track, with further good partnerships taking the score past 150.
Jason Pompeani (21no) and Duane Ashcroft (23) provided plenty of handy runs down the order as the Exies' tail wagged too long for Leagues' liking, as they were set the difficult chase of 180.
But that is when the wheels really fell off the game for Leagues as their batting effort lurched from one disaster to the next, with no batsman making it into double figures.
In fact, by far the highest scorer were Exies' bowlers, who added 20 to the total through extras, which amounted to a third of the runs scored in Leagues' innings.
Brady rounded his excellent day off with 3-12 off five, while the rest of the wickets were shared around in a complete team performance by Exies that gave the points and an early end to the day's play.
Coleambally Nomads have secured the minor premiership in B grade after smashing Coro in a rare game on their home pitch on Saturday.
The 10-wicket win was never in doubt after the consistent Coly bowling attack skittled Coro for just 87 with the home side's bowlers running rampant through the lower order.
Daniel Kisela must have wondered what hit him as he held up an end for 32 runs while wickets tumbled at the the other end, with only Matthew Staines and Burdish Brar (14 each) making an impression.
Bernie Cullen (37) and David White (35) ensured the rest of their teammates could keep their pads in their bag as they peeled off the runs in quick time, with the pair passing the target in the 15th over.
Rod Farlow became the hero for Diggers on Friday night with the big-hitting right- hander smashing 70 runs in his side's five-wicket win over Yenda.
Farlow's knock was a lone one with only one other batsman making it into double figures, with Yenda powerless to stop the opener's whirlwind innings that featured nine boundaries at nearly a run a ball.
The Diggers' captain might throw Adrian Murray the new ball next weekend after he cut the Yenda innings down to size with a late burst.
Murray's five wickets (5-15) were the last five of the innings to end Yenda's charge for a total in excess of 150, with Gary Argus top scoring for his side with a brisk 35 off 38 balls.
The twin pace attack of Nick Vendrasco and Dean Wynne led the way for Hanwood Colts in their easy seven-wicket win over Yoogali.
The pair claimed seven Yoogali scalps between them, with no partnership able to be formed, resulting in the below-par score of 75.
However, the end total looked a long way off as Yoogali fell to be 4-15, and in real danger of being bundled out for less than 50, but a vital knock from Ben Watts (32) helped put some respectability into the total.
In a near mirror-image of the Yoogali innings, Colts lost early wickets to find themselves at 3-15, but a composed 33 from Karl Vendrasco and 26 from Blake Gregor helped get their side over the line to continue their march towards finals cricket.
