The impressive haul helped his side thump the visitors by 31 points in what was a complete team performance at West End Stadium yesterday.
Outside shooting and moves in the post helped Seekins rack up the impressive score, but it was the help he recieved from everyone who stepped onto the court that most impressed Griffith’s coaching staff.
Right from the start the gulf in class between the two sides was obvious, as the Demons opened up an early lead in the first quarter, one they would not let go of.
Griffith coach Andrew Cullen could not speak more highly of his team’s performance, rating it as one of the best wins of the year.
“It could have gone very bad for us, but Corey (Ryan) and Levi (Seekins) set the platform for us on the defensive end,” Cullen said.
“Corey was outstanding on defence, but we had people stand up and contribute through out the game, Mick Duncan was good in passing early for us, but I have confidence in every player that I put out there.”
Which in turn has created an abundance of riches, with Cullen saying it is hard to give every player the court time they deserve.
The Demons dominated right from the opening tip off, opening up a 10-point lead before going into the first break up 19-10.
The defensive end was the catalyst for many fast breaks in the second term, with Seekins and Ryan often dishing off to one of the Griffith little men, who used their superior court coverage to find team mates for the easy score.
All game the Demons defence was watertight, with only a handful of easy chances being given to the Goldminers
Guards Michael Charles and Andrew Capello, who finishing with 14 and 20 points respectively, guided the Demons around the court and supplied drive the to the basket when it was needed, to have the home side comfortably in front at the long break, 47-21.
From there the Griffith show continued with Capello finding his rhythm from beyond the arc, to land a trio of three pointers to further punish Bathurst for their inability to grab the offensive rebound.
Bathurst’s woes were further compounded when they dipped into the penalty area, mid-way through the third term, gifting precious points to the home side. The win will be an added boost for the side that has a week off then hits the road against Queanbeyan and Shoalhaven.
