RISING middle-distance runner Patrick Rose has continued his red-hot form ahead of the national titles, after collecting two medals at state level last weekend.
Competing in his pet events in the 400m and 800m, Rose showed why he has been scouted by the NSW Institute of Sport for the 2016 Olympics to win gold in the 400m and silver in the 800m.
His win in the shorter distance was so dominant he finished more than 40 metres ahead of the next best runner to stop the clock in a blistering time of just over 52 seconds.
While he was not not able to claim the top dias place in the 800m, Rose still clocked the fast time of 2.04.16mins to collect his second precious medal for the titles.
Rose will now set his sights on the nationals in three weeks time where he is expected to be much more at home on the Homebush track, after being affected by travel and nerves at the national titles in Hobart last year.
