Joggers
Race two of the Hotfoot competition saw a change in course to suit the new timing equipment.
The conditions were hot and the new and challenging 6.1km course wound behind the houses and headed towards the old tip. David Alpen took out line honours and described his first victory on the new course as "tough".
Miriam's friendly face and water stand was there behind Waugh Street to greet us for a compulsory and much welcomed drink before we headed up the slope, and oh my god what a slope, (this try hard runner nearly rolled back to the drink stand) towards Hermits Cave and then back to the finish line.
Second place in the long course went to Adam Johnson and for the second week in a row Teresa Burgess was in third place, seven seconds behind Adam. Teresa is in first place on the leaders board in this current competition ahead of Glenys Greenaway and David Alpen.
In the short course, numbers were down and Liam Burgess crossed for first followed by Sharon Careri and once Ryan Altin was back on the correct track, he raced home for third.
There were a couple of tags left at home and the committee have had to take a tough stance no tag, no time.
Keep a look out for a couple of well-tuned ferals who will be entertaining the masses out at the Whitton Pub on Saturday, November 28.
The joggers currently meet every Saturday at 5.30pm at the green water tower opposite Pioneer Park.
