Talent on song in quest heart-stopper

06 Sep, 2010 01:00 AM
A CLASSICAL pianist and a teen vocalist with an "angelic voice" shared the honours at Friday night's Nancy Blumer and OS Butler Quest at Griffith Regional Theatre.

In a breathtaking showcase of the region's young talent, Leeton pianist James Tighe and Yenda vocal powerhouse Laura Panarello deadheated, to both take home the prestigious title.

Melbourne musician and quest adjudicator Stuart Brownley said he was "blown away" by the quality of contestants.

"There is a great depth and breadth of talent in this region and it was extremely hard to separate the winners and placegetters," Mr Brownley said.
