But whatever they did, local schools all had one thing in common this past week – they celebrated Education Week in their own unique way.
In an effort to inform the community about what makes their school special, some even set up displays at the local shopping centre, Griffith Central.
They included Griffith East, Griffith Public, Beelbangera, Yoogali Public, Yenda Public, Tharbogang and St Therese.
Five of those also performed a variety of items for passers-by throughout the week.
On Tuesday it was Yenda Public School’s time to shine when the choir, made up of 41 gifted students, sang Abba’s hit Fernando.
While the performance may have been brief it wasn’t short on talent.
Griffith Central centre manager Cheryl Woods said she was delighted to have the schools brighten up the centre.
“Schools are such a big and important part of our community,” she said.
“It was nice to have them come in and sing, I think they enjoyed it too because they don’t get a lot of chances to perform in public.”
Riverina Regional director Colin Parker said Education Week was an opportunity to celebrate a love of learning.
“If students develop a love of learning, they will thrive because they will be constantly seeking new ideas and skills, and find great enjoyment in learning new things,” Mr Parker said.
