AFTER months of rugging up against the cold, Griffith fashionistas are now ready to swap drab winter layers for bright spring dresses.
Griffith will be off and racing for the first time in six years this September 11, meaning the city's fashion-forward are already eyeing off their outfits as they vie for the prestigious Fashions on the Field title.
And it's colourful, feminine styles that have emerged the early favourites this spring.
Meadow Lane's Cheryl Standen said spring fashion will see a return to girly designs.
“There will be lots of colour, lots of feminine ruffles, satin prints, pure cottons and organic fabrics,” she said.
“There will also be lots of shoulder details, twists and embellishments and fresh, floaty fabrics to look forward to.”
But according to Ms Standen, the must-have item this spring to ensure you shine won’t actually be found on any rack.
“Confidence is the biggest fashion tip I can give,” she said.
“If you feel good, you can pull off anything and age is no barrier either when it comes to fashion.”
Stylish local Dimity Ryan welcomes the new season with open arms.
“It’s nice to come out of winter and be able to wear some colour,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to the new colours and feminine styles.”
Peacocks, corals and neutral tones are tipped to be the hottest colours, with strappy shoes and other accessories moving away from the chunky styles of last year.
