GRIFFITH'S State Emergency Service (SES) has been kept busy mopping up the damage wreaked by last week's freak storm.
Local controller Steve Mortlock said the SES had received seven calls for help between 4pm and midnight on Sunday.
More than 45mm was dumped on Griffith up to 5pm, with most of the damage caused during an intense storm between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
A house in Pioneer Avenue was among the worst hit, with SES crews having to cover the entire roof in giant tarps.
Griffith High School's library also suffered some damage in the storm, while a crew was called out to a housing commission house in Wade Street.
A five-man SES team of local volunteers was also dispatched to Wagga, which received a record 124.2mm on Sunday.
Mr Mortlock said the lack of wind meant Griffith homes and businesses were spared the worst of the storm.
"That was the most rain we've had for a long time, but there was no real wind with it," he said.
