Rock attacks on businesses

02 Oct, 2009 12:00 AM

LEFT with a bill in excess of $500 to replace a shattered windscreen, local pensioner Lynne Stephens was outraged after rocks were hurled at her car and home in the early hours of Saturday morning.

"Whether it is kids or not, I am furious. I can't understand how someone could do this to another person's property," Ms Stephens said.

"I need this car to get to specialist appointments in Wagga. I am on a disability pension and I can't even afford insurance, so I can't afford this. We only just raked up enough money to get the car registered."

Just before 1am on Saturday, Ms Stephens and her son were woken by a series of loud bangs at the rear of their house in Curtin Street.

They discovered marks on the outer walls of the house, and the windscreen of their Ford Falcon had been shattered.

Mr Stephens called the police immediately after the attack.

"The police were great, they were here within five minutes and patrolled the area for the rest of the night but unfortunately they haven't caught them yet," Mr Stephens said.
