DREAMS of becoming a star don’t always come true, but one lucky local Deone Zanotto, is living life to the script of a fairytale as she hits the Broadway stage.
Her name is currently up in lights on Broadway as she takes the stage for award-winning musical A Chorus Line, with Deone’s professional performance
career moving to new heights daily.
Deone has appeared in many hit Australian musicals, such as Footloose, Dirty Dancing and Saturday Night Fever, scoring rave reviews in Brisbane, Sydney and Hong Kong.
The story got all the more sweet when she met and starred in opposing main roles with her fiancé Adam Fiorentino.
After this, her remarkable talent saw her commence rehearsals for We Will Rock You – Queen the Musical in London’s West End, and this is when the call of a lifetime came.
“I remember thinking to myself, wow A Chorus Line is happening on Broadway again, that is such a gem of a show, I would kill to be doing that,” she said.
“But at the time I didn’t have a green card and it’s really difficult for actors to get visa to work in the States.”
But when her mother Nerida called with news of registered mail from the United States, Deone was a green card lottery winner.
