Library to sell off collection favourites

29 Jan, 2008 02:32 PM
BE IT a thrill-a-page paperback by Dan Brown or Shakespeare’s Othello on audio cassette, there will be something for everyone when the Griffith City Library sells off some its old collection in the coming weeks to make room for an influx of new stock.

For just 50c a pop, the library is selling off hundreds of fiction and non-fiction books for both children and adults, as well as magazines, videos and audio books.

Joint library manager Pam Young said the clean-out was a regular event to refresh their collection

“We do this fairly often to try and keep our collection fresh and maintain it at around 58,000 items,” Mrs Young said.

“We’re removing a lot of old VHS tapes from our shelves and replacing them with DVDs which should prove very popular with our users.”

The sale begins at the library on Monday, February 4.
