LA FESTA is set to be bigger and better this year with interested parties lining up to get in on the action early.
Griffith City Council event co-ordinator Shannon Collins said that organisers were hoping to beat the record turnout last year of over 12,000 people.
"This year is really going to be an expansion on the last couple of years," Ms Collins said.
"We had a great response to the Latin dance parade finale last year so that will be featuring again this year and Dolly Dance Academy is looking for new, interested dancers to be involved."
The council is also calling for community performers to show off their talent on the community stage in the top block along with buskers to roam the crowds throughout the day.
The foodies have come out in full force for the festival, Ms Collins said, but there are still a few stalls left to hire out for those wishing to delight with delectable delicacies.
Council has started promoting the festival to outside visitors and anticipates a diverse crowd.
Volunteers are being asked to step forward to help co-ordinators control the crowds on the day and can register their interest with the Griffith Visitors' Information Centre Ms Collins said.
