Find floral inspiration

AN ART exhibition showcasing local artists is tipped to be a blooming success.

But for Flower Power, a community exhibition coinciding with the Griffith Festival of the Gardens, to be a big hit, organisers need people to participate.

They are inviting artists, craftspeople or designers to be part of the exhibition and its flowers and gardens theme.

“We are really looking forward to

showcasing the talents of artists of all ages,” co-ordinator Kristy Brown said.

“Last year we had 120 artworks and we are hoping that we get around that same number this time.

“We are looking for nice bright and colourful works in any medium.

“The theme is definitely floral and gardens. We are keen to exhibit different things and expose and discover local artists.”

Both budding and more experienced artists are encouraged to submit their works.

“We’d love lots of different people to enter. If they want to put it in then we will put it up and on show,” she said.

“Last year we had school groups hanging alongside some of our more well-known regular artists.”

An entry fee of $5 will apply and there is a limit of two artworks per artists. Submission forms are available from the Griffith Regional Art Gallery. Works must be delivered to the gallery between September 24 and September 26.

The exhibition will open on October 2 and close on October 19.
