RIVALRY aside, local twinkle toes will show off their skills this weekend in the annual show, Spring Break.
Students from the Dolly Dance Academy and the Griffith Dance Company will join forces to exhibit the talents they have worked hard to develop, tomorrow from 3pm at Westend Estate Wines.
Dolly Dance Academy owner Dolly Clebsch said the event was a great opportunity for students from both schools to unite and celebrate dance.
“The students love having the chance to perform,” Mrs Clebsch said.
Griffith Dance Company’s Jodi Peters said local dance schools were known to be quite competitive and “this is a chance for the kids to perform together without having to compete’’.
The young dancers will perform a variety of jazz and hip-hop routines, and all money raised on the day will go towards getting choreographers from Sydney to come to Griffith to run a series of dance workshops.
“We really want to promote and encourage local dancers,” Ms Peters said.
Tickets for the show cost $5 for those 12 years and over, with all going into the draw to win the lucky door prize, a Betty-Boo gift voucher.
