Dressed in a black T-shirt and black pants, Matthew DeMartin appeared via a video link from the Junee correctional facility where he has been held in protective custody since December.
During the five minute proceedings, the 22-year-old remained composed and spoke politely to Magistrate Jeff Hogg.
A group of around six adults dressed in black exited the court room after his appearance, presumed to be his family and friends.
The case has been adjourned until February 13 for sentencing.
Police allege DeMartin participated in an interstate child pornography ring and was arrested after an 11-month investigation by the Australian Federal Police.
He recently completed his teaching degree and had been on the brink of accepting a full-time position at a local primary school.
